How to File Your Nails Like a Pro: Step-by-Step Guide
Share
🧴 Seal before you file
For filing to work properly, you must first “activate” your nails with Seal .
Make sure to cover the entire nail: from side to side, over the cuticle and out to the free edge.
Then – wait 2–3 minutes before you start filing. This gives the layers time to harden properly.
💡 Pro tip: Tap lightly on the nail to check if its dry. If it still feels soft, wait a little longer. It should make a 'click' sound when tapping and feel firm before you start.
🧰 The actual filing – step by step
Once your nails are completely hardened, take out your 180 Grit Pro file .
1. Start with the side edges
Shape and smooth carefully.
2. Shape the free edge
File lightly across to define the shape – round, oval, square? You decide!
3. Be gentle on your nails
Don't file too hard – we don't want to remove pigment or shorten the life of the manicure.
4. File the surface.
Smooth out any lumps to make the finish smooth and beautiful.
5. Use the 240 file around the cuticle.
Here we work lightly and carefully – it's a detail that gives a wow effect.
6. Nails that extend beyond the fingertips?
Then you can use the 180 file again and carefully shape the tip back into line.
💖 Why this step is important
The shape and overall look of your manicure is determined in this step.
All the hard work of application, colours, and layers... it all comes together and is refined as you file.
So breathe easy, put on some music, and take your time. This is where the finishing touches happen ✨
Voilà!
You've now filed your nails like a pro – and your manicure will thank you.
