Classic French Manicure

1. Build the base

1.1 – Apply Base + Colour

Prep as usual and prepare your chosen french mani colours.

You can use a light pink or nude for the base colour such as 'Lucid' or 'Peony Puff.'

Alternatively, you can use clear for the base colour to show your natural cuticle as the pink area of your french mani. 

Apply a new thin layer of Base, but keep a small distance from the cuticle – there should still be space between the product and the skin. 

Then dip into your chosen base colour and brush off the excess.

2. Create the smile line

2.1 – Dip the tip in Pillow Talk

Now we’re creating the famous white French tip!

Apply Base to the entire nail, then dip just the tip in Pillow Talk – as deep as you want the smile line to go.

2.2 – Cover with Clear

Immediately after that,  dip into Clear to cover over the rest of the nail. This blends the layer and creates a soft transition.

3. Repeat and improve

3.1 – Apply layer 3 of Build

Now go all the way up to the cuticle with a new layer of Base. 

3.2 – Dip the tip again

Dip the tip again in Pillow Talk to reinforce the smile line and ensure full colour coverage.

3.3 – Complete with Clear 

While the Base is still wet, apply Clear to to ensure an even finish between the tip and the rest of the nail.

4. Final layer

4.1 – Apply Base over the whole nail

This is the final layer of Base – from tip to cuticle.

4.2 – Dip in Clear

Finally: one last dip in Clear over the whole nail. Now the manicure is solid and ready for finishing.

5. Finish like a pro

👉 Proceed to your usual final steps:

  • SEAL – bonds everything

  • GLOW – for shine

  • HEAL/CARE – for cuticle care
